Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Addiction Professional
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Addiction Professional with 13 years of experience, providing individual psychotherapy for individuals between the ages of 13 to 82+. I have a private practice in Hollywood Florida and also see clients in Fort Lauderdale on very limited special needs basis. My practice serves clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds as well as all sexual orientations. I am a certified addiction professional and have worked with the dually diagnosed population for over 10 years in multiple therapeutic capacities such as inpatient, outpatient, private practice and forensic settings. I also currently have contracts with the State of Florida as a disabilities analyst and with Pearson as a clinical data collector.
I have extensive multidisciplinary training in psychological assessment and report writing. I have detailed and specific experiencing in the following assessment categories: pre/post heart/kidney/liver transplant operation, chronic pain, bariatric, personality disorders, cognitive disorders, disability, Workman’s Comp, ADHD, learning disorders, gifted IQ and clinical mental health disorders. I have worked specifically with Tampa Mental Health Court, North Broward Detention Center, LifeLink Hospital in Tampa, Children Assessment Intervention Center in Sarasota, and Vocational Rehabilitation in Broward. I also have more than 9 years of forensic psychology experience, working for various personal injury attorneys and for large insurance agencies such as Travelers and Farmer’s Insurance performing Independent Medical Evaluations.
Lastly, I have over 10 years experiencing teaching both live and online bachelor and Master’s level psychology courses for a variety of Universities. I have also had the opportunity to develop classes for the psychology program and assist in updating coursework throughout my career as an educator. Courses that I have taught include child development, clinical psychopathology, neuropsychology, forensic psychology, correctional psychology, intro to psychology, behavioral psychology, personality theories, ethics, human sexuality, and substance abuse.
I received my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in 2005, and my Psy.D shortly after completing my postdoctoral training at Nova Southeastern University (license PY 7670). Prior to my experience in Clinical Psychology, I obtained two Bachelors degrees in English Composition and Communications from Florida State University in 2000.
